Combinatorics 2008 will be held at Hotel Poiano in Costermano, a village by the eastern shore of Lake Garda (VR, Italy) near the town of Garda.

Arriving by plane

There are several international airports in the area. We suggest, when possible, to travel to Verona Villafranca International Airport (VRN): it is just 40km (24 miles) from Costermano. Other airports in the general area (in order of distance from Costermano) are:
  1. Verona Villafranca (VRN),
  2. Brescia Montichiari (VBS),
  3. Venezia Marco Polo (VCE)
  4. Bergamo Orio al Serio (BGN),
  5. Milan Linate (LXP),
  6. Milan Malpensa (MXP).
There is a taxi service from all of these airports to Garda. A shuttle bus will be available from the main station in Garda to hotel Poiano on Sunday.

In case you get to Milan Malpensa Intercontinental airport and you wish to continue your journey by train, we advise to take a bus (see, for example here) to "Milano Centrale" station and then proceed by train, towards Venice.

If you arrive at Verona Villafranca, you can either get a taxi directly to Costermano, or a bus to Verona Porta Nuova train station, from whence it might be possible to proceed either by train or by bus.

Arriving by train or bus

Unfortunately there are no trains arriving directly in Garda; the nearest stations of some import are Peschiera del Garda, Desenzano and Verona Centrale, all on the line from Milan to Venice. It is possible to check the train timetable and book tickets on this web site. Please observe that in order to travel on some trains (Eurostars) it is compulsory to have an advance booking. There are some public busses either from the train station of Verona "Porta Nuova" or from that of Peschiera del Garda arriving in Garda.

Arriving by car

Hotel Poiano address is in Via Fioria 7, Costermano (Garda). It is about 9 kilometers from the A22/E45 motorway "Autostrada del Brennero". The exit to be taken is Affi, Lago di Garda Sud; then you may follow these or these directions. You may also look up the area on Google Maps.
